Sourdough Dinner Rolls#

Makes 16 rolls
Ingredients#
- 1/2 cup ripe sourdough starter
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp table salt
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup dry milk powder
- 1/4 cup potato flour
- 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast
Directions#
Step 1 - Mix & First Rise#
Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly by hand, mixer, or bread machine until a soft, smooth dough forms. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise at warm room temperature for 60-90 minutes until nearly doubled.
Step 2 - Shape#
Grease two 8" round cake pans. Transfer dough to a lightly greased surface, gently deflate, and divide into 16 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. You can tie them in knots too.
Place 8 balls in each pan.
Step 3 - Second Rise#
Cover pans and allow rolls to rise 60-90 minutes until puffy and touching each other.
Step 4 - Bake#
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 24-26 minutes until light golden brown.
